Wake is One!

Well, Wake finally turned one and I'm here to say that it did not go by fast ha. It was the best year, but it was not the fastest. He now cruises all over the place (still crawling of course) but is getting a lot closer to walking. He's taken a few steps on his own but mostly just likes walking while we hold his hands or while he pushes his walker. He wants to walk on his own so bad though so hopefully it happens soon. He has hit the stage where he's constantly crawling up our legs so that we'll help him walk anywhere he wants to go. He still doesn't say words but he's definitely starting to understand. He lights up when I tell him, "No" and keeps doing whatever he's doing with a giant smile because he apparently likes to be naughty. He'll point out things that I ask him to like my nose, Jesus, and numbers in his book (he doesn't know which numbers they are but he knows that they're numbers). He'll also crawl to the slide when I ask him if he wants to go down it. I finally gave him cows milk for the first time and he loved it sucking it up through a straw so I'm excited to phase out breast milk. Especially since he still loves sticking his whole hand in my mouth every time he eats. I guess he's bored or something ha who knows...He still eats everything I give him and is starting to want to feed himself more which he's getting better at. Still in size 4 diapers and 2T clothes. He just got his first molar and is about to get a second which gives him nine teeth. He weighed 23 lbs and 12 oz (84th percentile) and his height was 31 inches (90th percentile). He is finally sleeping all the way through the night for the first time since I made him cry it out during that 5:00 am feeding. He usually goes down at 7:30, wakes up between 6 and 7 and takes one or two naps a day depending on the day. He loves to watch pbs kids, read books, go for stroller runs, walk/crawl around outside, play peakaboo, and be hung upside down ha. His party was really fun with a bunch of our friends out here. It would have been more fun to have family there but it was the next best thing. Here are the pictures of this month!
The best pictures are sleeping pictures...
Cutest Valentine.
Fort building Friday.
This sad picture happens all too often around here. Wake is always trying to climb up to Nate and Nate is always studying.
Face timing in the clinic.
First drink of cows milk. Yay me!
Finally got that kid some shoes and he was very pleased.
We spend a lot of time outside doing this...
And this...
Birthday morning!
His cake didn't turn out as professional as hoped but it was okay for a one year old ha.
Waiting for his party.

He did not enjoy the candle or his cake, don't be fooled.
Love ya Wake! Here's to more sleep the second year!
