Four Months of Wake

Wake continues to change and get more fun on the daily. As each week goes by I feel like I can breathe just a little bit easier. He's growing like crazy and I find myself always a little stressed that he will wake up one morning and not fit in any of his clothes haha. I try to stock up when I can but I'm a little picky about what he wears (it's quite apparent that I'm much more concerned about what he looks like than I these days lol). Anyway this month he:

Weighed 15 pounds and 3 ounces (43rd percentile), measured 25.25 inches tall (51st percentile), and his head was 41.3 cm (37th percentile). So somehow he managed to only grow .25 inches but outgrew all of his 6 month onesies and is about to outgrow the 9 monthers? Pretty sure they measured wrong but hey, I'm just happy about his weight gain.

Wears size 2 diapers.

Wears size 6-9 month onesies and 12 month shorts and socks.

Figured out how to roll from his back to his front and LOVES to be on his belly.

Is still swaddled at night and for naps and loves it.

Sleeps in his own room at night and for naps and it's been awesome to not be on edge about waking him up all night.

Sleeps from about 8pm to 8am waking up once to eat usually.

Eats about every two hours during the day for a total of 7 or 8 feedings in 24 hours.

Takes anywhere between 5-30 minutes to eat.

Can sit up in his saucer and on our laps and hold his head on his own (he's still a little wobbly and lazy but I'm not worried about it anymore).

Loves the ABC song and sucking his fingers (and thumb) which we don't allow ha.

Keeps the bink in like a champ and usually goes right down for naps and bed.

Is just the happiest dude and hardly ever cries unless he needs something.

Typical Wake. Always has at least one digit in his mouth at all times.
I finally started putting him in shorts and shirt some days and think it's way cuter than the onesie. Too bad it's so hot and he can't last long in them.
He is mesmerized by balls and I can keep him happy for quite awhile just shaking it in front of him.
This is the outfit his grandma Dantzelle got him and it is seriously the cutest thing ever. I so wish he was going to be able to fit in it longer :/
Selfie Sunday. I am anti selfies but we seriously spend so much time in this exact position when we FaceTime my family that I had to document it even though I look like a scrounge.
Loves to be nakey nake.
Waiting to FaceTime Mimi.
Nate must have taken this picture, and put on Dora. Heaven knows I wouldn't have put on a Spanish speaking cartoon for him.
This is us on the 4th. It was a sad 4th without midnight madness, the parade, homemade root beer, grams Kathy's carnival, and fireworks but we did go to a bbq with friends (not documented) so I would rate it a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 so I guess it could have been worse, right?
Nate's 25th birthday. He got his Cardinal shorts, an Amazon gift card and a driver (which he treated himself to about a month before). He did have to go to school that day which was a bummer but later that evening he had a softball game we all went to which was fun.
Don't know why but I just thought this was cute of him peaking over nate's shoulder haha.
Getting big!

Wake at Three Months

Well everyone said if I could make it until three months that life would get so much better and I have definitely seen a difference. He never falls asleep when eating anymore which is AWESOME and has gotten a lot faster at eating which is nice. It takes him anywhere from ten minutes to about a half hour depending on the time but that's still a major improvement. He didn't have a doctors appointment this month so I did my own measurements and percentiles since I bought a baby scale and am obsessed with making sure that he's gaining weight since he didn't the first month. He weighs 12 lb and 5 ounces which is 12th percentile and is 25 inches long which is 80th percentile. So he's still tall and skinny but he's definitely growing and filling out. This month he:

Rolls from his front to his back pretty consistently but forgets some days.

Learned how to make noises with his lips and slobbers everywhere.

Has taking a liking to sucking his index finger.

Loves to be propped up on the couch but still isn't quite holding his head up on his own although he's really close.

Sleeps from about 10pm to 6:30am usually waking up once but sometimes twice (I'm afraid I trained him to do that).

Takes six, one hour naps daily.

Wears size 1 diapers and his days away from not fitting in 3-6 month clothing anymore because of his height.

Is so dang smiley in the morning and when he eats. He will stop mid feeding, pull off, look at me and just smile his little heart out like it's party time ha.

Has become really into playing with his own hands and feet.

Loves to go running in the stroller.

Has gotten a little better at keeping the bink in.

Takes about six naps a day for an hour long and eats every 2.5 hours during the day.

Here are the pictures for this month:

Nate thought t was super cool that he did this since this sign apparently means something in Tagalog.
He just put his little hand up there by his face and chilled. It was too cute not to snap pic ha.
No one has met Wake yet besides my mom, Imari, and Cort. Imari and Cortney are living in Indianna for the summer for their husband's work and they were nice enough to come and spend the day with us. I wish I would have gotten pictures of our day but we ate our favorite bbq at Famous Dave's, went to Churchill Downs and watched three horse races in which Cort's horse always won, then went out for ice cream and It was way fun!
Selfies with dad haha.
Post bath time.
Wake's blessing day. Nate did a good job but it was surprisingly short and sweet ha.
He has started to LOVE sitting up on the couch and thinks he's so big. Too bad I can't catch a smile from him once he sees the iPad and gets mezmerized by it.
He loves helping me with laundry lol. I always dump it on him before I fold it and he thinks it's awesome.
Another night of watching basketball. Poor kid will be forced into loving it whether he likes it or not haha.
This is what happens when NĂ te watches him lol. Jk, I actually invented this setup. He is really taking after Bry and Brew and loving Curious George.
Had to take a screen shot of this. We FaceTime Auntie A and Brew about twice a day and I think it's a
Lifesaver for both of us. This picture sums up our day well. Brew and Ays outside eating Popsicles and Wake and I holed up inside lol.
He is getting so fun and I have high hopes for month three!

Wake at two months

Oh how would I describe this little one at two months? LAZY!  I never in a million years thought having a sleepy child would kill me. It is the bane of my existence to try and get him to eat because he would rather sleep his life away. He was 10 lbs and 3 ounces (7th percentile) for weight, 23 .5 inches (74th percentile) for height, and his head circumference was 38.7 cm (36th percentile) at his appointment. The doctor acted like he was fine since he looked over Nate and I an decided that we were small ha but I have been a little distraught  that he is apparently skinny. But I'll continue our 8 feedings a day with pumped supplementation (kind of random amounts at random times but usually an ounce after most feedings) and hope he gains weight still. I have been thinking that pumping and giving him a bottle was awesome because I could force him to eat whether he was awake enough or not but it has backfired a little and he gets frustrated sometimes when he nurses because he expects it to be easy like a bottle (seriously so lazy). Anyway, I'm just trying to figure him out day by day. He has lots of wet and dirty diapers and is alert and happy when he is awake so I know he's fine but hopefully month three is significantly easier since I hear that it is. He doesn't really have a schedule yet but goes to sleep around 11 pm and then I'll wake him up twice before about 8:30 am. Sometimes he wakes up on his own and just sits there and grunts and if I ignore it (which is tempting) he'll basically always go back to sleep but it doesn't do me any favors to ignore him since getting in 8 feedings in a 24 hour period is so hard to do since he takes about an hour to eat (people can't believe I wake my baby up at night still). But on the upside I do think he is the cutest person ever (lucky for him ha) and he is so pleasant anytime we're at a restraunt or church that I try to cut him a little slack lol.

He started smiling around week 6 and has even giggled (I think accidentally and in his sleep but I love it when he does it).

Rolled from his belly to his back twice in a row two days after his two month mark which was probably a fluke but he did do it twice ha (hates tummy time that much).

Is constantly sticking his hands in His eyes.

Has started to love sucking on his fists.

Wears size 0-3 month clothes and newborn diapers.

Doesn't smile during bath time but doesn't cry anymore either.

Doesn't let me hold him in burping position very long before he wiggles himself down to a horizontal position so he can be more comfy (lol cracks me up, so dang lazy).

Still struggles with the bink so naps are a little bit of a pain since I don't feed him to sleep during the day.

Sticks, for the most part, to the basic schedule of eating, having awake time during the day, and then going down for a nap.

Here is a picture overload...

First time at church and yes, I really wish the photographer would have made sure my garments weren't showing but what do you do....
Even though he's not supposed to break the swaddle, it's cute when he does.
The face of a boy who just peed all over everything in th vicinity.
Chillaxin...
What he looks like when I try to wake him up the many times he falls asleep eating.
The many expressions of wake...
Tummy time lazy style...
Watching dad's softball game.
Me trying to catch a smile from him.
Snoozin' during story time.
Cheesin' it up.
Figured out how to grab it.
We love our little Wakey boy...
